Tap Into New Things Happening in the Industry

After attending the 2021 RESACon Virtual Conference last week, one word seems to be the concept for moving forward. Diversify!!!

After hearing from all the RESA Approved trainers and participating as a panelist, there is one big conclusion: We have to be prepared to shift and change as the world shifts into a new reality.

We saw this happen in 2008, when RE was suddenly a buyers market. Our number of active agents fell as the demand for homes diminished overnight.

Homes have been selling so fast that the demand for staging services has slowed. Yes, we still believe that staging will earn 6 to 10% more for the homeowner, but we have to reinvent ourselves.

My business, as well as a large number of our grads, increased this past year. We tapped into design and renovations of all sizes. We just completed furnishing an Air BNB at the beach. Several of my grads are pulling in over $200,000 annually doing mainly large scale renovations. One savvy gal in Alabama has a new and expanded service furnishing and managing Air BNB's.

The whole interior design industry is shifting. It is ripe for the taking. People don't want traditional design. They want to participate more in the process. This is the topic of a new class that we will be presenting online soon.

Also, our local chapter of RESA, the Real Estate Staging Association, will host a mega event here in Jacksonville on Nov. 4th. There is limited seating. It's $79 till the 16th. Then $99. It's a great value. A full day of speakers + my talk on diversify your biz. How can we tap into the interior design universe an navigate the legal landscape safely and effectively. Join us!!!
