What is Your Message to the World

OMGosh! What an eyeopener!! The last RESA meeting speaker truly got my attention!! I felt like I had a pretty good handle on the topic of branding. After all, I am teaching it in my class. Why am I so focused on messaging?

I am in the process of a complete website overhaul. Very expensive and difficult when you have 30 pages. I wanted to streamline my message and simplify my info. What is the main thing that makes you different? Everyone says they are the best, the biggest!! That isn't going to bring you clients you unless you can back it up.

The Brand expert, Sarah Justice, from www.KindaWonderful.com , offered a brilliant, colorful presentation. Here's my takeaway...

A brand is the emotion left behind when someone interacts with your business on any level. Visual, Verbal, Experiential. It lives on in the mind of the consumer.

You need a strong foundation for your brand that aligns all your activities and communications. That's much more than consistent colors and fonts!

The foundation answers these questions: Who we are? Who is my ideal client? Where are they? How are we different? What is our personality? What is our promise? Wow!! That's a lot!

If you don't target your brand destination, you WILL NOT get there by accident! I am still working on my main message and I plan to consult with Sarah to fine-tune my materials.

These are the main messages I want my brand to illustrate:
1. I have a 25 year track record as an ASID interior designer. I am the only ASID designer in the USA teaching staging and redesign for certification. Also, very few stagers are also designers. I speak often on many stages, locally and nationally.
2. We meet in a yacht-club resort location on the ICW, the intracoastal waterway. The ocean is 10 minutes away. "Take a class and get a tan."
3. We are the Chic Boutique of Home Staging Training. "We are Lily Pulitzer, not Macy's. We are not the biggest but the most design-oriented class in the USA."
4. Our staged homes sell in 15 days, on average.

Please look at my new website and tell me what you think. Your opinion means everything to me. We are still changing out pictures. Too many house pictures? www.stagehappy.com Please email me or comment on the blog. I value all of you and love you to the moon and back!!

This beautiful, cosmetic renovation transformed a late 90's safari style home into a more welcoming, stunning, functional space. Built for entertaining friends and family, this home update was mostly simple and straightforward. Many improvements made the space more open and practical. Take a look. What do you think?
